The Indian prince lives in the chic suburb of Geneva. Born in 1933 in Paris, Sadruddin Aga Khan is the son of Mohammed Shah Aga Khan III of the Indian royal family. Prince Sadruddin studied at Harvard and received a postgraduate degree from the Centre for Middle Eastern Education Studies in 1957.

In 1958, Sadruddin Aga Khan worked for Unesco, and then for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. In 1965, he was appointed UN High Commissioner for Refugees, a duty he assumed until 1977 alongside King Hussein. That same year, he founded the Bellerive Foundation, which also includes Alp Action, an international corporate funding program for the alpine environment.

In 1978, he was Special Consultant and Chargé de Mission to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, before beginning to work for the Human Rights Commission in 1981.

Uncle of His Highness Aga Khan, the prince is now a world-renowned philanthropist. He lives in the Château de Bellerive overlooking the city of Geneva, where he takes an active part in the human rights and environmental protection movements.
