Carlos Moya moved to Switzerland in 2000. Born in 1976 in Palma, Majorca, Carlos Moya began playing tennis with his father at a very young age. He started training intensively when he was 12 and began his professional career in 1994. He claimed his first victory during his very first season in Klosters, in the Graubunden.
In 1995, he won his first victories in the Grand Slam tournaments. During the Melbourne tournament in 1996, he defeated champions Boris Becker, Michael Chang and then Pete Sampras in the final. Carlos Moya immediately achieved star status. He continues to rank in the top ten of the ATP classification.
The Spanish tennis player left Monaco in 2000 to settle in Geneva, where he can soak up the peace and quiet on the shores of Lake Geneva and take advantage of the reasonable taxation. The proximity of the Geneva airport allows him to come relax between tournaments.
